Thought for the Day-March 26th

Today I lost a friend, a relatively new friend whom lived at the end of my street. A gentle man, with a glowing spirit and great sense of humor and charm. Our friendship developed over the past couple years, as he generously gave me chair to sit in while waiting at the bus stop. Our communication grew slowly with everyday commentary until we talked about other things. Our small exchanges were always interesting and gave a me a new perspective on whatever it was that we discussed. I had the pleasure of sharing my cooking with him, and he actually liked it. So through my sadness today, I am reflecting on all relationships and friendships that we have in our lives. Each one brings something into our lives, no matter how close or far we may be to these people. Each friendship is different and they seem to support or be present in our lives at just the right time that you need them. So I say to you today, reach out to a friend that you may be thinking about or haven’t seen in a while. Just call to say Hello or meet out for a coffee. Life moves so fast and what is important are the connections we have to others. If we had nothing in our lives other than friends and family, how lucky we would be.
